Pathology Core Facility (PCF)

Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University

The Pathology Core Facility (PCF), a shared resource of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University, was founded in 1997. Originally designed to support procurement, processing, and banking needs for cancer clinical trials at Northwestern University, the PCF has evolved into a comprehensive resource that facilitates human pathology-based activities for Lurie Cancer Center's research community. The PCF is a CAP and CLLA-certified laboratory suitable for providing services to our research community by focusing on high quality histology, immunohistochemistry and molecular work, and is currently in the transition to digital pathology. In addition, we have an experienced team and infrastructure capable of supporting tumor banking and biomarker-based clinical trials at Northwestern University. Please review our database and individual laboratories to see how we can meet your needs. Dr. Gursel and I will be happy to help you develop a research plan to reach your objectives. The long term mission of the facility is to be recognized as a global standard of excellence in pathology.
